Sheldon Smith is a sailor currently stationed on the USS Antietam in San Diego, California. He and his wife Alicia are the parents of one little boy named Timothy and a daughter named Samantha.

The Art of Defense came out of 40 Days of Purpose, a book by Rick Warren. For the span of the study, Sheldon did not write a word down on paper. Giving up his passion was his sacrifice in order to learn what God had for him. When the 40 days of purpose was over, he had his answer. In 28 days, he had The Art of Defense.
